Author: Well we finally decided on something to get my daughter for Christmas. She already has the Vtech V.Smile TV Learning System 
version as well. So, no unnecessary game cartridges to have to buy! And, just like the TV player the handheld version has big buttons which make it easier for little hands to find when playing the game. She played with it in the store and she seemed to really enjoy it. And, the game cartridges are packed with educational games that you can set to either an "easy" mode or "hard" mode so she had time to develop her skills with each game cartridge. I think this is important because this way she didn’t feel discouraged in not being able to play a certain game. We just set it to the "easy" mode until she mastered her skills to move to the "hard" mode. I hope she’ll enjoy playing with it as much at home as she did in the store. The best thing is that the portable player you can take with you which makes for great entertainment while traveling. And, it can also plug into a TV set so it’s great to take along on vacations too. It requires 4 AA batteries. I think we’ve got us a great pick this year. She already loves all the other games and Vtech has come out with some newer games that are more age appropriate. I was wondering what we would get her now that she is getting older (she’s 6), and was worried whether or not she would use or like what we found. I don’t think I’ll have to worry about the Vsmile though. If she plays with the handheld unit as much as the TV version then it is well worth the money!
