In deciding on a baby name many parents try to think of a name associated with a specific holiday or time of year.  My daughter was born during the holidays.  I was scheduled for a c-section on December 3rd, so in picking out a name we tried to think of a female name that was also associated with Christmas.  Needless to say I went into labor a week early and she was born in November..not December.  But the name we picked for her we decided to keep because even though she wasn’t born during the month of December we still considered her a “holiday” baby.  We named her Hollie, not Holly..although sometimes I regret choosing that particular spelling because everyone else spells her name with a “y”.  Why did we choose this name?  Well, it reminded us of Christmas because of the Holly bush that produces the tiny red berries around Christmas time.  And, basically because we like the way it sounded.  Why we changed the spelling from a “y” to an “ie”… I have no idea.  My husband says it was my idea, but I think it was his.

Below are a few other Christmas, or Holiday baby names we thought of as well.
