Tonight I spent some quality time with my family. My sisters, cousins, and neices gathered for an evening of Christmas fun and celebration. It was so exciting to see the family members I hadn’t seen in such a long time. We ate, chatted and caught up on the years past events. We took pictures, videoed the unwapping of gifts and even had an exciting game of Dirty Santa, you know..the game where you open gifts and you get to steal someone else’s gift if theirs is more pleasing to your eye. We did pretty good …in fact we came home with one of the gifts that we took to the party which was something my husband wanted anyway…a drill that included a remote control car as well! Go figure..they actually make power tools with a kid toy in the box that the battery can fit to both. Some manufacturers really know how to appeal to a specific gender or age group don’t they?
After the holidays are over and everyone gets back to a semi regular routine.. many families like us will sort thru the videos and reminesse again with the pictures we took. If you are like me, you’ll develop some pictures, save some, and share them with friends and family thru e-mail. But once they’ve been looked at once that’s it..they get stuck in a scrapbook only to be discovered again by accident. But they don’t have to end up like that. Sure some will, but there will be those that you just can’t put away, because they spark a memory, a feeling of love, warmth and family togetherness.
Priceless photos included on products such as tshirts, coasters, purses, and hats make wonderful gifts for the rest of the year’s holidays. Personalized photo gifts are perfect for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Birthdays. Take for instance picture purses. A personalized photo purse for your mother, sister, cousin, neice or other family or friend is a beautiful gift they can use and enjoy the rest of the year. Photo diaper bags are perfect for those new moms. Did you snap a picture of the newest baby in the family? If so.. use this picture to make a photo diaper bag for the new mom and give it to her on her first Mother’s Day. Was there a newly married couple in the family? Use their picture and include it on a cosmetic bag for the new bride. New husbands can request one to be made and present it to his bride for Valentine’s Day or a birthday.
Sort thru all those Christmas and holiday pictures and select the very best ones. Then use them to personalize purses, bags and diaper bags for unique gifts that can be given all during the next year. There was a taken at our party of me with my sisters and my cousin. If it turns out good then I’m going to have a purse or cosmetic bag made for them and send it to them on Valentine’s Day. Have fun with your holiday photos. Personalize photo purses, t-shirts, coasters and hats make wonderful gifts that keep on giving all year long.

Well I did it! I ordered my 14 year old son the 30GB iPod (with video) for Christmas! It may be all he’ll get too..LOL! It’s going to be interesting to see how he will be able to juggle this with, doing homework, chatting on the computer, playing his Playstation, and talking on his cell phone all at the same time. I remind him every now and then that when I was a teen I didn’t have a TV in my room, nor a phone (which were all attached to a cord by the way). I guess some say I over induldge him a bit, but hey… if this stuff was available back when I was young I would have wanted it too. I remember making a flip transporter, like they used in Star Treck, out of cardboard and tape. HA… I thought I was cool then…. yeah, Beam me up Scottie!! I guess my thing right now is computers. Hubby keeps saying that one day he’s going to walk into my office and I’ll be sucked into the cyber world and he’ll have to Google me out somehow. Actually I’m hoping this video thing will help keep him entertained while on road trips with his Dad. Maybe if he had a movie or two to watch he won’t run his cell phone bill up….yeah right. If you’re going to buy gadgets this year be prepared to fork out the money cause this stuff isn’t cheap. Now to decide what kind of techy thing we are going to get my 6 yr. old daughter. Hubby seems to think we need to keep her up with the times too. Love to hear pros and cons of the techy stuff for younger kids, so if you have an opinion feel free to post.
